Brindley accountant Alex Madigan is taking part in the Cotswold Way Challenge this weekend for Pancreatic Cancer Action with his sister Jenny, in a wonderful tribute to their dad.
In May of last year, Alex and his family received the devastating news that their dad had pancreatic cancer. After a short battle, he sadly passed away in October.
With an early start at the Royal Crescent in Bath, Alex and Jenny will trek across the beautiful Cotswold countryside with their end destination being Cheltenham. This sounds a great way to spend a weekend other than the fact that it involves a non-stop through the night walk of 100km!
Alex is based at Brindley’s Featherstone site. He said:
“I have never undertaken a challenge of this scale before and I am very apprehensive about the distance involved. It's going to be a mental and physical challenge but nothing compared to what my dad and my family went through last year. We have decided to raise funds for Pancreatic Cancer Action. Their aim is to promote the early diagnosis of this form of cancer which is not normally picked up until it's too late. Hopefully our efforts will help families that are going through what we had to endure. Any sponsorship would be greatly appreciated.”
