In just 57 years, Hyundai has gone from a newcomer to one of the world’s leading car manufacturers, making it one of the fastest carmakers to reach such a landmark.

Hyundai’s journey from its beginnings to this 100-million milestone has been one of great ambition and innovation. The key to this growth story is the Ulsan Plant, often called the birthplace of South Korea’s automotive industry, and now stands proudly as the world’s single largest automobile plant.
The plant was established as a key hub for Hyundai’s expansion, the Ulsan Plant marked its significance early on by producing Korea’s first mass-produced car, the ‘Pony,’ in 1975.
Since the Pony, the world has changed a lot, with a better understanding of how internal combustion engines can negatively affect the environment, which is why Hyundai was an early adopter of electric power trains.
Hyundai’s E-GMP platform allows for high performance and efficiency for Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis models. This is a testament to the quality of the electric drivetrain, which has been in production since 2021.
E-GMP incorporates features like longer driving ranges, faster charging, and enhanced safety.
