New Vehicle Payment

In February 2022, Motability introduced a £250 New Vehicle Payment for car and Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) customers. From 1st March 2023 they increased this payment to £750. What’s more, you can now use this towards your Advance Payment.

Who’s eligible for the payment?

Customers who are new to the Motability Scheme will be eligible for the New Vehicle Payment of £750 if they order or take delivery of their new vehicle before the end of 2024.

Existing customers will become eligible for the payment when then receive their next vehicle.

Remember you can only get this payment once, so if you took delivery of your new vehicle since the payment was introduced, you will not receive another payment for your next lease.

How much will I receive?

Will I get this every time I get a new vehicle?

No - you can only get this payment once.

Will I still get the payment if I extend my lease?

Yes - you’ll get the payment shortly after you get your next car or WAV.

You’ll only get this payment once - not every time you get a new vehicle.

Will this payment affect my Good Condition Payment?

No, this payment is separate and will not affect your eligibility for the Good Condition Payment or the amount you receive.
