They are more expensive to buy, yes. However, an electric vehicle is very affordable to run, which means it’ll save you money in the long run.
As well as Mazda, other electric, plug-in hybrid and hybrid car manufacturers include Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Maxus, MG, Nissan and Volvo.
It depends on the vehicle in question. To give you an example, charging the MX-30 Plug-in hybrid at home (zero to 100 percent) will cost you approximately £11, which equates to about 9.2p per mile.
