Kia UK have released new special edition 'Horizon' models for the Kia EV6 and the Kia Niro EV, adding to the broad appeal of each EV. 

The new 'Horizon' models offer a comprehensive suite of technology and driving features whilst sitting at an affordable price point.​

EV6 'Horizon'

The EV6 ‘Horizon’ is positioned just above the entry level ‘Air’ model, and below the sportier ‘GT-Line’ models. Above the standard equipment on the ‘Air’ model, the ‘Horizon’ adds several features:

  • Automatic body coloured flush exterior door handles
  • Solar glass windscreen
  • Dual LED headlights with adaptive driving beam
  • Front parking sensors*
  • High gloss black door trim
  • Driver’s power adjustable memory seat
  • Front passenger power seat with two-way electric lumbar support
  • Heated outer second row seats
  • Wireless mobile phone charger
  • Smart power tailgate
  • On-the-road price: £45,995

The inclusive on-the-road price covers premium paint as a standard feature, providing customers with a choice of three finishes: Midnight Black, Interstellar Grey, or the newly introduced Gravity Blue for the EV6. The interior comes with black artificial leather as the default option and showcases 19-inch grey alloy wheels.

Exclusively equipped with a 225bhp rear-wheel drive powertrain, the EV6 'Horizon' comes paired with a long-range 77.4kWh battery pack. This configuration enables the vehicle to achieve a range of up to 328 miles on a single charge (WLTP combined cycle)**. The EV6 ‘Horizon’ also offers ultra-rapid 800V charging technology, enabling the car to recharge from 10-80 per cent in just 18 minutes*** when plugged into a 350kW charger...

The Niro EV ‘Horizon’ slots into the Niro EV line-up between the entry-level ‘2’ grade and mid-level ‘3’ grade. Like the EV6 ‘Horizon’, it benefits from a wide variety of additional standard equipment over the entry model, including:

  • Rear privacy glass
  • Electrically folding high gloss door mirrors
  • Front parking sensors*
  • Rain sensing front wipers
  • All-round electric windows with driver’s and front passenger auto up/down
  • Black artificial leather upholstery

  • Driver’s power adjustable seat with aircell type lumbar support

  • Vehicle-to-Load (V2L)
  • Blind Spot Collision Avoidance Assist (BCA)

It also offers premium paint as standard within the on-the-road price​, customers can select from Mineral Blue, Interstellar Grey, or Midnight Black, complemented by gloss black body cladding. The Niro EV 'Horizon' comes with 17-inch alloy wheels as the standard option.

Similar to the other models in the Kia Niro EV lineup, the 'Horizon' variant features a 64.8kWh battery pack, delivering a range of up to 285 miles on a single charge based on the WLTP combined cycle**. Paired with a 150kW electric motor sending power to the front wheels, the Niro EV offers efficient running with smooth and spritely performance.​

Kia to launch 15 EVs worldwide by 2027

The Kia EV6 and Niro EV both form a crucial part of Kia’s global plan of having 15 EVs on sale by 2027, and are sold in the UK alongside the Soul EV and all-new EV9. The introduction of the new ‘Horizon’ models ensures even more choice and value to UK customers considering making the switch to fully electric motoring.

Individual driving style and other factors, such as speed, outside temperature, topography and the use of electricity-consuming devices/units, have an influence on the real-life range and can possibly reduce it.
*** In order to achieve the maximum charging speed, EV6 must use an 800-volt electric vehicle charger that delivers at least 240kW of electricity. Actual charging speed and charging time may be influenced by the battery temperature and weather conditions.
