THE KIA EV4 SHORTLISTED FOR 2026 CAR OF THE YEAR AWARD

We are excited to share that the Kia EV4 has been officially shortlisted for the final round of the 2026 Car of the Year award! Chosen by a panel of 60 expert jurors from 23 countries, the EV4 is just one of seven finalists from an impressive line up of 35 models. This milestone marks Kia’s eighth appearance on the COTY shortlist – a remarkable achievement for a Korean manufacturer- and highlights Kia’s growing influence in the European automotive industry since the Kia Ceed first made the list back in 2008.

Even more impressively, this marks Kia’s fifth consecutive year as a Car of the Year finalist. Following the EV6’s victory in 2022, the Niro in 2023, the EV9 in 2024 and the EV3’s impressive second place finish in 2025 – which achieved the highest score ever for a Kia model – this latest achievement highlights Kia’s remarkable consistency and innovation. This consistent performance establishes Kia as a serious, long-term contender in Europe’s most prestigious automotive competition.

Built for Europe. In Europe

The Kia EV4 is the brands first all-electric model produced in Europe, manufactured t the company’s Slovakian plant in Žilina on the Electric Global Modular Platform. Offering up to 388 miles of range for the hatchback and 380 miles for the Fastback, the EV4 combines impressive efficiency with everyday practicality. With ultra-low drag coefficients (0.261Cd for the hatchback and 0.23Cd for the Fastback) and advanced battery options (58.3kWh and 81.4kWh) capable of 10%-80% charging in just around 30 minutes, the EV4 is designed to meet the needs of real-world European drivers.

European engineers at the Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Centre (HMETC) fine-tune the chassis for confident handling, precise cornering and comfortable long-distance travel. The Kia EV4 also benefits from Kia’s expanding European charging network, which now includes over one million public charging points across the continent. Inside, the EV4 embodies Kia’s bold ‘Opposite United’ design philosophy, featuring a driver focused cabin with intuitive technology including the Kia App, Digital Key 2, and over-the-air software updates for a seamless connected experience. Looking ahead, Kia has already announced plans to introduce the EV4 GT in 2026, adding even more excitement to the range.
