MoneyHelper Government-backed MoneyHelper is a trusted source of financial advice and support. If you need assistance navigating your way through money problems, MoneyHelper will keep things simple and understandable while allowing you to regain control of your finances.

StepChange In 2022 alone, StepChange – the UK’s most comprehensive debt advice service – helped more than 25,000 people to become debt free.

National Debtline A non-profit debt advice charity run by the Money Advice Trust, National Debtline offers free and confidential debt advice to people in England, Scotland and Wales.

Government Support GOV.UK is a great source of free debt advice information.

Turn2us If you’re struggling financially, Turn2us is a national charity with enormous experience when it comes to providing practical assistance.

Citizens Advice Helping UK citizens to solve problems since 1939, including debt-related issues, Citizens Advice assists millions of people every year.

I’m struggling to pay – what can I do?

Speak with the organisations you own money to. In most cases, creditors will try to help you with your debt problem, perhaps by allowing you to take a break from your payments or paying smaller amounts.

Whatever you do, don’t bury your head in the sand. The quicker you start to deal with your debt, the sooner it will become a thing of the past.

Who can I talk to if I need advice?

Any of the aforementioned organisations will be able to provide you with practical assistance, and if you visit GOV.UK, you’ll have access to further trusted organisations.
